Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage Panel and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This course is designed to provide you with an understanding and skills required to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult as a result of a cardiac arrest and for those who are required to provide an emergency first aid response in a workplace. Content is established on Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
How long does it run for?
4 hours (face to face).
What will I learn?
Knowledge of performing rescue from LV panel procedures.
Have an understanding of rescue from a live LV panel to an extent indicated by the following aspects:
T1 Emergency procedures for the rescue of a victim from a live LV panel encompassing:
Inspection of rescue equipment
Assessing hazards to rescuer, victim and others
Isolation procedures where appropriate
Knowledge of Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
Involvement of external emergency services
T2 Emergency procedures for the skills required for the rescue of a victim from a live LV panel encompassing:
Placement of rescue equipment
Controlling hazards to rescuer, victim and others
Maintaining Safe Approach Distances (SAD’s) appropriate to rescue from a live LV panel
Practical demonstration of rescuing a person
Removing victim to safe location / place of safety

Responsibilities and reporting
Assessment of the situation
CPR - Resuscitation
Legal and other issues
Do I need to have completed previous training?
How do I keep my qualifications current?
The recognised industry standard to maintain current competency is for this course to be refreshed every 6 months.
Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.
On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for UETTDRRF06B Perform rescue from a live LV panel and HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
